Habitat Conservation Pty Ltd (HCPL) was formed in 1997 for the purpose of buying an area of remnant vegetation in the Murray Mallee of South Australia.

An area of 1000 acres (403.7 hectares) known locally as Boomers Scrub and comprised of Sections 120, 121 and 122, Hundred of Ridley was purchased and placed under Heritage Agreement with the South Australian government. The land is about half an hours drive north from Mannum on the road to Walkers Flat.
